IBF/WBC/WBO Lightweight Unification Showdown
An interesting “Showdown” is set to go down on Saturday October 24, 2026, at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio when Three-Division World Champion and current IBF/WBO Lightweight Champion Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete (40-2-1, 33 Kos) will attempt to unify the Division with WBC Lightweight Champion O’Shaquie “IceWater” Foster (25-3, 12 Kos).
Both Champions have been looking exceptionally great per their last outing, producing some very good work inside that squared circle. That being said, this upcoming challenge will definitely raise the bar for both Warriors to bring out the best version of themselves considering what is at stake on the night.
This is what these combatants work hard for. Holding all the jewels and securing the No. 1 Spot in the Division. This is motivation within itself. I’m expecting a well-conditioned and disciplined assassin in Navarrete, to show up on fight night and give the cool, collected and well-schooled boxer, in Foster, a serious test of will power.
We all know too well what Navarrete brings inside that squared circle. His unorthodox style and punch output have proven to be a real problem for the opposition but I’m curious to see what “game plan” the “Ice Water” Foster, will drum up to prevent Navarrete from snatching that WBC Championship Belt from his grasp.
