2023 NBA CHAMPIONS

Nikola Jokic has finally reached the mountain top of the 2023 NBA Season by closing out game 5 of the NBA Finals as best he could with a solid 28 points and 16 boards bailing out the squad as they were struggling heavily to maintain their hold on securing their first NBA Championship in franchise History.

I gotta tip my “B” hat to Jokic. This Dude’s strong mentality and solid composure throughout the NBA Season, the NBA Playoffs and the NBA Finals were levels above his peers, hands down. History was in the making the moment this year NBA Finals started. Jokic became the first player in history to lead the league in points (600), boards (269) and dimes (190) in a single postseason while practically averaging a triple-double per game, collecting averages of 30 points, 13.5 boards and 9.5 dimes. Worthy and deserving of the Bill Russell trophy as well as the NBA Finals MVP.

Record breaking accolades aside, Jokic couldn’t have completed these historical feats without a healthy Jamal Murray to release some of the responsibility and a driven and motivated squad that showed how battle tested they were throughout the entire Season with only one common goal in mind: the NBA Championship that they have now collected as a team.

The Heat should still keep their heads up high, real talk! Although they fell short once again at claiming the NBA Championship, they became the only second No. 8 Seed to make it to the NBA Finals after running through some very tough opposition. They balled hard night after night on both ends of the court but were met with a better team destined to enter the record books.

Congratulations to the Denver Nuggets for emerging as the NBA Champions of the NBA Season 2023. You Boys dominated the NBA Playoffs and the Finals in such a convincing fashion that the Championship could not be denied.

Well done!

2023 NBA FINALS

With the completion of the NBA’s version of the Final 4 now officially over, the two remaining teams to represent their respective coasts are the No. 1 Seeded Denver Nuggets for the WESTSIDE and No. 8 Seeded Miami Heat for the EASTSIDE.

Denver stayed true to their identity and their No. 1 Seed by running through their competition and crushing them with an iron fist one series at a time, proving that they were destined to grace the NBA Finals for their first appearance.

As good as the Nuggets have been looking throughout the Playoffs, it’s been the Heat stealing the spotlight with their No. 8 Seed placing and still standing after a hard, gruelling battle with the No. 2 Seeded Boston Celtics went down to a game 7 on enemy territory to decide who would be representing the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.

Miami nearly dropped the ball on this one, going up 3-0 on the Celtics to eventually losing their choke grip on Boston who managed to make it a very interesting series by rallying back to an unforeseen 3-3 series tie, in a blink of an eye.

Boston was back in the game and the favorite to pull it off on home court. However, Miami saw the writing on the wall, drying up rapidly and they had to revert back to what got them there: nonstop toughness from both ends of the floor, teamwork and a very motivated Jimmy Butler leading the way hitting big shots after big shots eventually crushing the Celtics to submission and winning a ticket to the NBA Finals.

Regardless of how this NBA Finals unravels, history will be in the making. The Denver Nuggets have never won an NBA Title let alone been the No. 1 Seed in the Western Conference. Denver has looked overpowering throughout the Playoffs and steadily peaking round after round. With Nikola Jokic and a healthy squad leading the way, the Nuggets should be the Finals favorite to win it all.

That being said, No. 8 Seed has ever won an NBA Championship and the Miami Heat squad is determined to enter the record books as the only team to accomplish the impossible. The Heat have displayed some exceptional play throughout the Playoffs and knocked off some serious competition on their way to the Finals. Them Boys are a legit threat and deserve to be in the NBA Finals. The Nuggets may have the better team but them “heat seekers” have the “DOGG” in them and have proven to be the higher seed killers of these Playoffs series. Another Seed must fall for them to become NBA Champions once again.

Tune in this Thursday night June 1, 2023 and be part of this intriguing NBA Finals matchup.

2022 NBA FINALS CHAMPIONS

Stephen Curry has regained his rightful place atop the mountain of the 2022 NBA Season by closing out game 6 of the NBA Finals on enemy territory with a brilliant Steph-like performance scoring 34 points, holding down a modest 7 bords and 7 assists to bring the Golden State Warriors their 4th Championship in the last eight seasons. He also picked up the NBA Finals MVP for the first time in his career.

It was a tough journey back with injuries derailing the Warriors the last couple of years but they and their organization, never lost sight of the task at hand and stayed on course, rebuilt, regrouped and once healthy, to regained the reins.

This Warriors’ squad was built different but with the right pieces to complement one another. They went through the struggles together and shined bright together picking each other up when needed to celebrating together as a tight squad should.

Them Boys balled out all season in a very competitive league and took out some great teams throughout the Playoffs and silenced the No. 1 defensive team in the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.

All Championships won have a different meaning to the Champions on that day but having seen what the Warriors have gone through as a squad to get to this point here today, makes this Championship No. 4 SPECIAL!!

Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors for creating a “Dynasty” and emerging as the New NBA Champions of the NBA Season 2022. Well done.

2022 NBA FINALS

With the completion of the NBA’s version of the Final 4 now officially over, the two remaining teams to represent their respective coasts are the No. 2 Seeded Boston Celtics for the EASTSIDE and No. 3 Seeded Golden State Warriors for the WESTSIDE.

No one predicted this Finals matchup at the beginning of this year’s NBA Season but truth be told I personally did envision the Warriors reaching the Finals from the jump. Real Talk! Both teams from their respective coasts went through their version of the gauntlet beating some very stiff competition. The Celtics defended off the Nets, the Defending Champions Bucks and took out the No. 1 Seed the Miami Heat in a tough game 7 to earn their seat at the Finals table. While the Warriors had to go through the Nuggets, the Grizzlies and the Mavericks to keep their quest alive to earn their rightful seat at the Finals table.

With the Golden State Warriors reaching their 6th NBA Finals in the last 8 seasons, a Finals Championship win this year would definitely label the Warriors as a certified dynasty team. These are familiar grounds for the Warriors who have missed these stomping grounds the last couple of years. Although this squad has quite a few new faces, the returning champions on this team and the coaching staff have the experience to maneuver through the trenches. It’s been a tough journey back to this point and the Warriors have the goods and the drive to complete the task at hand.

Standing in their way are the surging Boston squad and their tight defence ready to upset the Warriors with their style of Playoff basketball. So far, the Celtics have overcome every blockage placed on their path all season but their new found team chemistry is a key point to their success. They were once counted out but now destined for the NBA Finals. The Celtics have displayed a different type of toughness throughout this Playoff run, one that will undeniably be tested by the Warriors come game time Thursday night June 2, 2022 on ABC. Tune in and witness this intriguing matchup unfold.

2021 NBA FINALS CHAMPIONS

Giannis Antetokounmpo has finally reached the mountain top of the 2021 NBA Season by closing out game 6 of the NBA Finals with an exceptional “Greek Freak” like performance scoring 50 points, holding down 14 boards and five amazing blocks to bring the Milwaukee Bucks their second NBA Championship since 1971.

I gotta tip my “B” hat to Giannis. The growth he has displayed in his maturity and his game throughout the last three seasons are what Legends are made of. Giannis has already picked up two NBA Seasons MVP honors and a DPOY award in year 2019/2020 and now a 2021 NBA Finals MVP along with the 2021 NBA Finals Championship. Giannis can no longer be disrespected by his peers. He earned his triumph the hard way. These types of personal accolades will separate you from the norm but align you with the only two other Legends to have walked the same path as Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon, who are the only other players to date to have earned all three awards over their astonishing career.

That being said, Giannis couldn’t have completed this obstacle without the Bucks’ squad stepping up. Them Boys came from a 2-0 deficit in the series to clean out the Suns in a tough 4 game sweep to win the Championship on the home court floor. In this series the Bucks’ squad showed they were battled tested and ready to prove it. They were not going to be denied on their big night.

The Suns may have fell short last night but should still keep their heads up high for reaching the Finals with such an inexperienced team. They balled out all season and took out some great teams throughout the Playoffs. They were on the biggest stage doing their thing and deserved to be on that stage. They just happened to meet a team just as determined and driven as them in the Milwaukee Bucks.

Congratulations to the Milwaukee Bucks for emerging as the New NBA Champions of the NBA Season 2021. You Boys battled through some tough series as well while also dealing with some injuries but came out on top of the world.

Respect earned the hard way. Well done.

2021 NBA FINALS

With the NBA ‘s version of the Final 4 now officially over, the two remaining teams to represent their respective coasts are the No. 3 Seeded Milwaukee Bucks for the EASTSIDE and No. 2 Seeded Phoenix Suns for the WESTSIDE.

No one predicted this Finals matchup at the beginning of this year’s shortened NBA Season but due to a vigorous up and down NBA Season and multiple injuries to key players throughout the Playoffs from various favorable teams, the balance of power was tipped in a major way to which has now brought us to this intriguing outcome.

I’m not going to take away anything from what these two teams have accomplished on their journey to the Finals. The Bucks are coming into this Finals series with a question mark with the uncertainty of their leader and star player Giannis Antetokounmpo being unavailable due to a knee injury. Milwaukee has come a long way and battled Miami, Brooklyn and dismantled a tough Atlanta team without Giannis for the two close-out games. I would say this team right here is suitably battle tested and ready for whatever the Phoenix Suns has to offer.

That being said, the Suns haven’t graced the Finals since 1993 but this squad right here led by Chris Paul and young star in the making Devin Booker, and Phoenix’s inexperienced young squad has already surpassed all expectations by having completed a successful season and having made it to the Finals by going through the Defending Champions the Los Angeles Lakers, the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers to secure their spot at the Finals table. Not an easy task for an inexperienced young squad but they did it.

With the Bucks looking to win their first NBA Title since 1971 and the Suns looking to secure their first NBA Title in history, the stakes are extremely high making this Year’s NBA Finals must see TV. So, tune in this Tuesday night July 6, 2021 and witness this high played chess match style of the NBA Finals live on ABC.

2020 NBA FINALS CHAMPIONS

The NBA “Bubble” experience is now over. “King James” got to rock the Crown once again and win his 4th NBA Finals MVP award, while leading the Los Angeles Lakers to their 17th NBA Title in franchise history, tying the Boston Celtics for the most in league history.

I gotta tip my “B” hat to “King James”. The man walked it like he talked it. LeBron stayed true to himself and the Lakers organization and put the franchise back in the position where it belongs: at the top of the food chain as the NBA Champions of the year 2020.

We can’t front on Miami. Although the Heat squad fell short last night on the biggest stage, the road to the Finals was educational enough to keep their hunger going for next year. Real Talk! Them Heat Boys balled hard, injured or not, they did their thing inside that “Bubble” and should keep their heads up high. They competed and deserved to be there – they just happened to meet up with a King and his squad that came out early in the game and shut the whole operation down by half time. The Lakers had physically and emotionally destroyed the Miami Heat spirit.

No one man can win an NBA Championship on his own, you need a serious squad to accomplish that from top to bottom and the Lakers crew are proof of that. That said, we can’t ignore LeBron James’ greatness on the biggest stage last night. LeBron finished the night with 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists and an additional MVP award with three Finals separate teams. Another historical moment to be added to his yet to be completed historical career.

Congratulations to the Los Angeles Lakers for conquering the challenges “The Bubble” experience presented. With Kobe Bryant’s death and that of his daughter Gigi last January, Social Injustice to COVID-19 still looming all over the world, this Championship run for the Lakers will forever be remembered as the most memorable one of this organization.

Respect earned to the Baddest Squad.

2020 NBA Finals

Two teams that didn’t make the playoffs last year are now set to do battle in this year NBA Finals Wednesday September 30, 2020 inside “The Bubble”.

The No. 1 Seed representing the WESTSIDE is the Western Conference Champion Los Angeles Lakers and the No. 5 Seed representing the EASTSIDE is the Eastern Conference Champion the Miami Heat.

No one predicted this Finals matchup at the beginning of this year NBA season but truth be told it does have the makings of a very intriguing outcome.

Although the odd makers favor the LeBron-led Lakers to come out on top as the NBA Champion, I personally believe the Heat may be the formidable opponent that will actually make things challenging in preventing the Lakers on having an easy run to the Championship.

Both teams have dismantled their previous opponents with relative ease coming into the Finals with an identical record of 12-3. They have both stepped it up on the defensive side and impressed with a very efficient offensive style of play that have kept us fans glued to the screen.

The Miami Heat squad has been counted out the day the Playoffs started but have quickly changed the narrative round after round to now entering the Finals. Unlike “King James” and the Lakers they were expected to reach the Finals with the squad that they have with Anthony Davis being the x-factor.

AD has well proven his worth dominating throughout the series, definitely making it hard on opposing opposition trying to slow him down. The Heat may not have two Hall of Fame running mates to match up with “King James” and AD but the squad that Miami is rocking with have no backing down in them. They are a no-nonsense crew ready to get physical and grind it out by any means necessary.

That said, there is absolutely no favoritism inside “The Bubble”. The Larry O’Bryan Trophy is up for grabs now let’s see who will get crowned NBA Champion of the year 2020.

Tune in this Wednesday night September 30, 2020 live on ABC inside “The Bubble” for game 1 of the NBA Finals.

And The New

Our Team from up North, The Toronto Raptors, has been cementing their names in the History books all season long but last night the Raptors officially stamped and branded themselves by dethroning the three-time Defending Champs Golden State Warriors on their own floor to now being crowned this year’s 2019 NBA Champion. Unbelievable!

The injury depleted Warriors fought hard all series and up until the last minute but ran out of ammunition to the stronger, more determined squad that had this year’s two-time Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard leading the way. Kawhi played out of his mind and with a chip on his shoulder throughout the Playoffs. Kawhi had something to prove and he wanted to be heard and seen doing it. I tip my “B” to the entire team for playing hard all year long, but truth be told Kawhi was the one missing piece that made this amazing year possible. Kawhi is a game changer who dominated all sides of the game averaging 30.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 4 assists per game for the Playoff run, and when healthy he proved to be one of the top NBA players in the game today. Real Talk!

24 Years in the making while going through the tough times and the good times, the Toronto Raptors franchise has finally achieved the pinnacle point of being crowned this year’s 2019 NBA Champions. For the first time in NBA History, the Larry O’Bryan Trophy will rest up North in Canada.

Congratulations to our Canadian team the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors had themselves an amazing season, it’s only right that they finished the year crowned “King of the NBA Court 2019”. Respect due to the baddest squad, you Boys have now officially tipped the landscape of the NBA.

NBA FINALS 2019

This is history in the making. Our own Canadian team the Toronto Raptors went toe to toe with the No. 1 team in the league, The Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals. Our Raptors were down 2-0 to turning things around and winning the series 4-2. It wasn’t an easy task but them Raptors played their hearts out and laid it all on the court and mentally and physically dismantled the Bucks in a very convincing fashion. The Raptors’ resilience on offence and defence was next to none and for that, Toronto became the first Canadian team to reach NBA Finals. These Raptors have a complete squad who are geared up to do battle against the best of the best. The addition of Kawhi Leonard has improved this team dramatically and definitely gave them a different swag that is clearly paying off.

The Raptors have passed every test on the Eastern side but the biggest and final test of them all awaits them in the form of the Western Conference three-time Defending Champions Golden State Warriors. The Warriors aren’t at full strength coming into the NBA Finals but they still own the rights to the Throne until proven otherwise. That being said, the Warriors are once again chasing history. Being able to three-peat is a rare feat and if they were to accomplish that, their legacy would speak volumes.

In the public’s eyes, the Warriors are now viewed as the more vulnerable team since the Raptors’ momentum is on a high. This will be the Warriors fifth trip to the Finals in the last five seasons to the Raptors first time under the brightest lights and the biggest stage of their existence. The pressure will be high for both teams but I can’t front, the familiar grounds and the experience that the Warriors carry make it real hard to go against the Defending Champs. If the Raptors want to continue writing their names in the history books, they will have to take the Crown from the Warriors.

So, tune in Thursday night, May 30, 2019 for Game 1 in Toronto at the Scotiabank Arena, which will become the first city outside of the United States to entertain an NBA Finals game.
