Middleweight World Supremacy Battle Take 2!

The Battle of the Middleweight World Supremacy between Canelo Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) and Gennady Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs) is back on once again on May 5th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

This highly anticipated sequel between these two badass Middleweights has taken a life of its own. Both fighters feel like they both did enough last September 16, 2017 to walk away with the win. The 12-round split draw has left them both with a sour taste in their mouth and the only way to get rid of it is to battle it out and take the Judges out of the equation one time!

As expected the trash talking has been quietly building up some steam as of late from both sides. Canelo is talking real greasy about guaranteeing a knockout while Golovkin is stating that he will put in some heavy bodywork to slow down the pit-bull from moving around all over the place. Golovkin will be aiming to breakdown Canelo systematically round by round.

They both have tasted each other’s best shots so hopefully the fear factor is out the window and these two combatants meet up in the center of the ring and go blow for blow. Both have very exceptional skills that will come into play. Canelo is very elusive with exceptional Boxing IQ.

Golovkin’s Boxing IQ is also exceptional but his style is that of a more aggressive fighter who doesn’t like to waste too much energy when he’s putting in that work inside that squared circle.

Neither fighter appeared badly hurt at any point during their initial clash but I’m thinking this go around someone is definitely going to feel some serious pain. What we the fans need and want from our fighters is the best to fight the best but that only comes second to what these two-determined combatants want to accomplish and that’s a clear-cut winner come Saturday night May 5th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

All the Middleweight Belts WBC, IBO, WBA, IBF are at stake and there can only be one clear Champion.

We are officially well passed the midpoint mark for the season with 57 plus Games played and to everybody’s surprise the Houston Rockets (44-13) is the team holding on to that No. 1 Spot by a very small margin over the Defending Champs Golden State Warriors (44-14). Holding on to that No. 1 Spot in the league won’t be easy with the Warriors breathing down their necks but home court advantage come Playoff time would definitely be a plus for them if they could pull it off. As expected the Western Conference has remained quite competitive with the Spurs, Timberwolves, and Thunder, playing musical chairs with each other trying to position themselves just right for a playoff spot making it very interesting.

Holding down the No. 1 Spot on the Eastern Conference side is our very own Canadian Team the Toronto Raptors (41-16). Them Boys snuck up quietly behind the Boston Celtics (40-19) and the Cleveland Cavaliers (34-22) to snatch that No. 1 Spot. Toronto’s steady play as of late has proven to be a problem for a lot of the teams in the East. Real Talk! Peeps keep on talking down about how weak the Eastern Conference is but truth be told the Eastern Conference is actually getting better and better and definitely more competitive; just watch the play of the Wizards, Pacers, Bucks, 76ers, Heat and the Pistons as of late? Its do or die amongst them Teams vying for a Playoff spot.

Injuries to various teams and last minute trades have once again altered the league, making the second half of the season just that much more interesting. So keep tuning in to see who will make the Final Cut!!

On The Watch “It’s All About George Groves vs Chris Eubank Jr.”

World Boxing Super Series (WBSS)

Tonight at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England, George Groves (28-3, 20Kos) humbled Chris Eubank Jr. (26-2, 20Kos) by successfully defeating him for the IBO and Super WBA Super Middleweight titles.

This bout wasn’t a pretty one but I have to tip my “B” hat to Groves for sticking to the game plan and neutralizing Eubank’s high volume offence. There are levels to this boxing sh*t and Groves backed it up by proving to all the naysayers and myself that he’s a notch above what Eubank possesses. The better man literally won tonight hands down.

I was confused and disappointed by Eubank’s passive approach. He did not have the right game plan to stunt on Groves’ tonight. Eubank talked a good game to the build up of the bout but simply got outclassed on that big stage come fight night. This was supposed to be a big bout for Eubank but tonight my man dropped the ball heavily. He let an extremely great opportunity slip through his hands.

Tonight’s World Boxing Super Series Super Middleweight semifinals winner George Groves proved to the remaining competitors why he’s the number one seed in the Muhammad Ali Tournament.

Congratulations Groves on your highly convincing win tonight, now on to the Finals.
