The New York Knicks defied all odds and created their own history by snapping a 53-year title drought and having a crazy Playoff run to capture last year’s 2026 NBA Championship to now becoming the hunted on unfamiliar grounds to defend their newly acquired throne. The Knicks will be in tough right from the jump but with their squad still intact and with Jalen Bronson still running the show, the Knicks have gained a significant amount of experience after winning the Championship that will prepared them for the upcoming challenges of the season. I’m anticipating the Knicks to defend their crown by any means necessary.  

The Eastern Conference has once again regained some substantial ground with the Larry O’Brien trophy residing on their side of the street. However, by doing so they have pushed the other Eastern Conference teams to desperate measures.

First up are the Philadelphia 76ers who picked up Jaylen Brown and LeBron James, instantly making them a powerhouse with Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe and a healthy Joel Embiid rounding up their starting five that will be heavily watched to see if this nucleus can bring them to the promised land.   

The Boston Celtics will be looking to stay in contention even after the loss of Jalen Brown to the 76ers. The Celtics still have their Ace and Captain Jayson Tatum to lead and anchor a very well-oiled team that is always ready for that action regardless of the circumstances.

The Detroit Pistons dropped the ball last year in their Playoff run after a very strong season but with the steady emergence of Cade Cunningham who has elevated his game to MVP potential, the Pistons still have the right nucleus to tear down the league and prove the naysayers wrong.

The Cleveland Cavaliers keep falling short in the Playoffs but have a very solid squad that can do some serious damage from both ends of the floor. They are very capable to disrupt the league so for that alone I wouldn’t sleep on them.

The Miami Heat had themselves their biggest upgrade when they acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo to help lead their newly assembled squad to the promised land.  Alongside Bam Adebayo in the front court them two athletic big boys are going to cause havoc that will bring them the positive changes that this team desperately needs.

With the return of Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors, if healthy, they may have acquired the right two-piece combo to go along with Scottie Barnes to create the right nucleus that can bring them right back into contention.   

As for the remaining Eastern Conference teams, the Indiana Pacers, the Atlanta Hawks, the Washington Wizards, the Chicago Bulls, the Charlotte Hornets and the Brooklyn Nets, Orlando Magic, the Milwaukee Bucks, the scope is still hovering over them to see what product they can bring to the court when the season starts.

Regardless of where the Larry O’Brien trophy resides at the moment, the Western Conference still continues to bear the mantle of the strongest conference. Real Talk!

That said, although the Oklahoma City Thunder fell short in the Western Conference Finals last year, this deep squad, along with the two-time reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading at the helm, have all the right pieces to make it back to the top and regain their throne. The talent runs deep on that squad, execution is a must.

The San Antonio Spurs who took out the Thunder then fell short at the hands of the New York Knicks in the Finals, still have the right nucleus to run it back and demand control of the league. Victor Wembanyama is the center piece of the team but the squad he runs aside with are deadly at both ends of the court on any given night. I expect big things from this squad.

The Denver Nuggets and their three-time MVP Nikola Jokic will forever be in the mix as long as he’s healthy running the show, teams should never sleep on them.  They possess an experience and solid squad that can rival either conference on any given night.

The Houston Rockets are about to jump right back into the mix with the return of a healthy Fred Van Vleet back running the point alongside the sniper Kevin Durant, this squad will be looking to disrupt the league at a higher clip rate once they get things rolling again.  

The Minnesota Timberwolves could find themselves back in the mix with their late acquisition of LaMelo Ball to help boost the backcourt along side Anthony Edwards. The highlight reels are about to be ridiculous so let’s just hope this translates into more wins and a deeper Playoff run.

With the departure of LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers are banking on a healthy Luka Doncic to take them back into contention alongside a surging Austin Reaves who has been stepping his game up year by year.  With a new revamped squad, this Lakers team will be looking to compete right from the jump.

As for the remainder of the Western Conference teams, the Golden State Warriors, the L.A. Clippers, the Dallas Mavericks, the Phoenix Suns, the Utah Jazz, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Portland Trail Blazers, the New Orleans Pelicans and the Sacramento Kings, them teams will be competitive but will they have enough juice to disrupt the hierarchy of the Western Conference?

The league and the players are drastically changing at a faster pace than expected so tune in this Tuesday night October 20, 2026, and be part of another captivating NBA Season 2026/2027!

2026 NBA Western Conference Finals

The NBA’s version of the Final 4 is set to start this Monday night May 18, 2026, and as anticipated, the two power houses from the Western Conference the No. 1 Seeded Oklahoma City Thunder and the No. 2 Seeded San Antonio Spurs are set to do battle for the rite of passage to represent the WEST at the NBA Finals.

The Defending Champions Oklahoma City Thunder, led by two-time reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, are coming from two back-to-back sweeps, and are well-rested and locked and loaded to derail the San Antonio Spurs, who are fresh off a Game 6 series but still carrying the momentum and the mindset to knock off the “Thunder” from continuing on their Championship run.

The Spurs are coming into this series with the utmost confidence. Their squad is competitive and intact with a cheat code in Victor Wembanyama who can dominate and disrupt both ends of the floor at any given time. That being said, I expect OKC and SGA to continue to raise the bar and crush their competitors by any means necessary.

This will be a very intriguing series where the Defending Champs will be heavily tested by an equally balanced squad ready for that action come Game Time. Tune in Monday night May 18, 2026, and witness the Western Conference shoutout under them blazing lights.

ON The Watch “It’s All About The NBA PLAYOFFS WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS”

The NBA Playoffs Western Conference Semifinals 2026

The No. 1 Seed Defending Champions Oklahoma City Thunder had themselves a quick four-game sweep of the Phoenix Sun in the first round of action and are now gearing up to shoot down the No. 4 Seed Los Angeles Lakers who have been pushing the envelope with LeBron and their depleted squad. That being said, the Lakers are not to be taken lightly. The Thunder will have to stick to the script and stay focused on the task at hand. The road to the NBA Finals is the only destination.

The No. 2 Seed San Antonio Spurs had themselves a warm up in the first round by dispatching the Portland Trail Blazers in 5 and are now looking to do the same to the No. 6 Seed Minnesota Timberwolves who are possibly coming in shorthanded without their main man Anthony Edwards but I do anticipate the Wolves to at least stay competitive for as long as the series continues.

NBA Playoffs 2026 (Sweet 16)

With another full 82-Game NBA Season now over and the NBA Play-In Tournament successfully completed, we are now officially ready for the NBA Playoffs 2026.

“King of The Court” and once again the No. 1 Seed in the entire league belongs to the Defending NBA Champions Oklahoma City Thunder (64-18) who have a better understanding of the task at hand this second go around. “Repeat Champions” is their only mission and with their full squad still intact, focussed and finally healthy, them Boys are ready to ball hard by any means necessary and stamp their names as Back-to-Back Champions.

The No. 2 Seeded San Antonio Spurs (62-20) have been impressive all season long and have made themselves a legitimate threat to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the entire league by the way they’ve been so dominant even while missing Victor Wembanyama for key games. Them boys have built themselves into a true championship contender squad that have all the right tools and weapons to make it to the final showdown.

The No. 3 Seeded Denver Nuggets (54-28) seem to be back on track and have been looking like a Championship team that’s locked and loaded for a competitive Playoff run. With a healthy Nikola Jokic running the show, things could get quite interesting.

The No. 4 Seeded Los Angeles Lakers (53-29) fought hard to maintain their spot in the standing, but are entering this Playoff run, at least for the time being, without two major contributors in Luka Doncic (33.5/7.7/8.3) and Austin Reaves (23.3/4.7/5.5) who are sidelined with injuries. With LeBron James as the only real threat on the floor, their championship aspiration is looking slimmer by the day.

The No. 5 Seeded Houston Rockets (52-30) are coming into this Playoff run hampered with injuries to key players as well but with the “Sniper” Kevin Durant still playing at a higher level them most and rocking with a well-balanced squad, them Boys could still play spoilers in the Playoffs.

The Minnesota Timberwolves No. 6 Seed (49-33), the Portland Trail Blazers (42-40) the No. 7 Seed and the Phoenix Suns (45-37) the No. 8 Seed all fought hard to secure their spots but may fall short in the pursuit of disrupting the hierarchy in this year’s Playoffs run.

This year the Detroit Pistons (60-22) took everybody by storm by holding onto their No. 1 Spot throughout the entire season in dominant fashion. Them Boys balled hard and showed the league they are the real deal and are destined to make it to the Finals and contest by any means necessary.

Fighting adversary and on their way back to reclaiming their rightful spot are the No. 2 Seeded the Boston Celtics (56-26). Coming from where they were at the beginning of the season to now looking like championship contenders with Jason Tatum back from injuries and Jaylen Brown balling like an MVP candidate, them Boys have the right nucleus to make it back to the NBA Finals.

The No. 3 Seeded New York Knicks (53-29) have worked hard through some rough ups and downs this season but have found their way back to contention level and are well positioned to play spoiler once again.

The No. 4 Seeded Cleveland Cavaliers (52-30) also ran through some tough times during the regular season but managed to bounce right back with the latest addition of James Harden now leading the squad. Them Boys are looking more and more rejuvenated and motivated to play spoiler if not taken seriously.

The No. 5 Seeded Toronto Raptors (46-36), the No. 6 Seeded Atlanta Hawks (46-36), the No. 7 Seeded Philadelphia 76ers (45-37) and the No. 8 Seeded Orlando Magic (45-37) all fought very hard in a tougher than expected Eastern Conference to earn their spot with not much separating them other than a stronger will to win which will be displayed come Playoff time.

With the competitiveness of both conferences showing up, I’m anticipating a very intriguing turn of events developing throughout this Playoff season so tune in this Saturday afternoon April 18, 2026, and witness the outcome.

We have officially passed the midpoint mark for the NBA Season with 42 plus games played to date and the Defending Champions Oklahoma City Thunder (36-8) have yet to relinquish their No. 1 Spot. They continue to oversee the entire league looking as focused as ever and determined to hold on to their crown by any means necessary.  Breathing closely down their necks are the San Antonio Spurs (30-13) steady pacing themselves and proving to be live contenders ready for the challenge when push comes to shove. The Denver Nuggets (29-14) are already a proven squad, so they are always in the mix regardless of their standing. The intriguing question in the Western Conference right now is who’s next on the come up between the Minnesota Timberwolves (27-16), the Houston Rockets (25-15), the Los Angeles Lakers (25-16), the Phoenix Suns (26-17) and the Golden State Warriors (25-19)?

On the Eastern Conference side, the Detroit Pistons (31-10) are passing the eye test by holding down their No. 1 Spot while still looking like the old school Pistons and steadily improving game by game. The Boston Celtics (26-16) have picked up some steam and put some games together to move up the standings while the New York Knicks (25-18) have had a harder time holding down their spot after winning the Emirates NBA Cup. Our own Canadian team the Toronto Raptors (25-19) have been impressively competitive night in and night out and could easily move up the standings if they could get a good run going. Vying to stay in the mix are the Philadelphia 76ers (23-18), the Orlando Magic (23-19), the Cleveland Cavaliers (24-20) and the Miami Heat (22-21) but things could look different as the season progresses.

That being said, stay locked in for a competitive second half of the season.

We are officially at the Quarter mark of this year’s NBA Season and with the flourishing completion of the third edition of the NBA In-Season Tournament dubbed the Emirates NBA Cup, the changing of the guards is looking quite interesting within the early standings keeping the viewership locked in.

The NBA In-Season Tournament has been successful in keeping the players engaged, competitive and absolutely motivated to reach the final destination in Las Vegas. This year, the two unexpected teams to represent their respective coasts for this In-Season Tournament were none other than the No. 2 Seed the New York Knicks (18-7) and the No. 4 Seed the San Antonio Spurs (18-7). Staged on a neutral floor, both teams balled out furiously like it was the NBA Finals bringing life to the game from start to finish. Both teams were hot from the jump and competed at both ends of the floor for every minute of the first three quarters of the games, but it’s in the fourth quarter where the Knicks separated themselves by closing out the quarter strongly with a balanced effort from the entire team and from their leader Jalen Brunson who dropped 25 points, 8 dimes and 4 boards to help defeat a tough squad in the Spurs and claimed his first NBA Cup MVP Award.

All the players and coaches on the New York Knicks will receive $530,933 each and as the runners-up, the San Antonio Spurs will receive $212,373 each. Well done!

In-Season Tournament aside, the championship game will not count for either team’s regular season record, unlike every other game played in the event.

That being said, the true team holding down the No. 1 Spot are the Defending Champions the Oklahoma City Thunder (24-2). Them Boys are still riding high off their championship run and are balling on a different level.  They are looking stronger game by game and conducting themselves like true champions looking to go back-to-back.

The Denver Nuggets (19-6) are steadily pacing themselves in the competitive Western Conference proving to be worthy even with injuries to key players. With Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, they will be always be the game. That said, between the Los Angeles Lakers (18-7), the San Antonio Spurs (18-7) the Houston Rockets (16-7), the Minnesota Timberwolves (17-9), all are all playing musical chairs in the early stages of the season with the Phoenix Suns (14-12), the Golden State Warriors vying desperately to stay in the race.

The Detroit Pistons (21-5) are out the gate with their best start in the last 20 years. Their defense is looking tight like the old school Pistons and their young balance squad are balling on a contender level. Game by game these Boys are looking like the truth. The New York Knicks (18-7), fresh off winning the Emirates NBA Cup are looking dangerously improved and well balanced for the long haul and ready to keep the momentum going. As for the Toronto Raptors (16-11), the Boston Celtics (15-11), the Orlando Magic (15-11), the Philadelphia 76ers (14-11), the Cleveland Cavaliers (15-12), the Atlanta Hawks (15-12) and the Miami Heat (14-12), all are a few games apart from each other and all have been competitive with one another as well.  That being said, we are still in the early stages of the season and positioning is crucial where every game is meaningful so stay locked in as the season progresses.

The Oklahoma City Thunder stayed true to themselves and proved the critics right and this time finished their quest in an impressive fashion by claiming last year’s 2025 NBA Championship with a tight squad and the leadership of NBA MVP and Finals MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the charge. Shai ran through the season with ease and owned the NBA Playoffs and proved to be one of the elites in the league by claiming his first Larry O’Brien trophy. The road back to the promised land won’t be an easy one but with the experience now gained and their team still intact, them Boys will be looking to go back-to-back for a second Championship by any means necessary.

That being said, the balance of power remains in the Western Conference where things are like a minefield, anyone of the top 8 contending teams can take you out and give it a good run.

The Houston Rockets had a good run last year and made a lot of noise throughout the season and the Playoffs. They have a solid young core ready to be further tested. With the addition of sniper Kevin Durant now leading this squad into battle, their chances of success have improved dramatically.

The Denver Nuggets may have yielded to the eventual Champions Oklahoma City Thunder last year but truth be told this squad has a three-time MVP Nikola Jokic and a Larry O’Brien trophy of their own. They are loaded with enough talent and experience to rival any team on any given night. A championship run is the only thing they are looking forward to.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have showed up and improved steadily climbing and breaking down buildings along the way screaming at every team in the league that they have arrived. They fell short last year at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder but amassed an abundance of experience along the way. With their bubbling star Anthony Edwards leading the charge with a tight squad, they can only go up from this point on.

The Los Angeles Lakers have revamped their squad over the summer to stay competitive enough to compete in the top heavy Western Conference. With LeBron James still playing at a high level alongside a healthy Luka Doncic prime to take over the reins, the Lakers might have a chance to make some serious noise this year.

The Golden State Warriors are trying to slow down father time but still remain in the running with a solid core of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and a full season with Jimmy Butler, the Warriors will hopefully be able to contend. The leadership is there – it’s for the squad to step up and follow their lead.

As for the remainder of the Western Conference Teams, the L.A. Clippers, the Phoenix Suns, the Dallas Mavericks, the San Antonio Spurs, the New Orleans Pelicans, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Sacramento Kings, the Portland Trail Blazers, and the Utah Jazz, some of them have made the proper changes to compete and climb up the standings but only time will tell just how much of a difference they will make in the very competitive Western Conference.

It’s open season again in the Eastern Conference as injuries to key players have disrupted the balance of power and now opening up the door for the forgotten to move back up into contention.

The Cleveland Cavaliers fell short in the Playoffs last year but held a chocke hold on the Eastern Conference for most of the year and now plan on learning from their past mistakes and reclaim their position by attempting to once again dominate their way back to the top.

Standing in their way are the New York Knicks. With new head Coach Mike Brown now leading the pack, a new style of play should open up the floor and create new advantages that would benefit this nucleus better. If Coach Brown can crack this team, they can definitely hold down that No 1 Spot and do some serious damage throughout the season.

The Orlando Magic is prime for the come up and considering the injuries to key teams, their chances of upsetting the favourites are quite high. They have the youth and the talent to compete with the best of them on both sides of the floor. This team has something to prove therefore sleeping on this squad will cost you in the long run.

The Milwaukee Bucks are still amongst the top dogs due to Giannis Antetokounmpo still playing at a high level but with the departure of Damian Lillard, holding on to a competitive standing will be challenging.

The Indiana Pacers and the Boston Celtics should have been in the conversation but with Tyrese Haliburton and Jayson Tatum out for most of the season, and Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid coming back from injuries,  the door is wide open for the remaining Eastern Conference teams the Atlanta Hawks,  the Detroit Pistons, the Toronto Raptors, the Miami Heat, the Chicago Bulls, the Brooklyn Nets, the Charlotte Hornets and the Washington Wizards to take advantage and climb up the rankings and show the league what they are  really made of. This Conference is vulnerable right now but things could change as the NBA Season evolves.  

The league and the players are drastically changing so tune in on opening night Tuesday October 21, 2025, and be part of another intriguing NBA Season 2025/2026.

On The Watch “It’s All About 2025 NBA FINALS CHAMPIONS”

2025 NBA Champions

With one of the best NBA Final games played to date, the Oklahoma City Thunder fought through the challenges ahead and continued to stay true to their character and their No. 1 Seed throughout the regular season and the Playoffs to close out the NBA Finals 4-3 with a dominant performance win over a very competitive Indiana Pacers team. OKC just entered history by collecting their first Championship since the franchise moved to Oklahoma City from Seattle in 2008 after Seattle won the 1979 Chip.

The Oklahoma City Thunder, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, completed a historic year by becoming the first Canadian-born to win the NBA Finals MVP, Western Conference Finals MVP, NBA Regular Season MVP, the 2025 Scoring Title and capping off the year with an NBA Championship.

I tip my “B” hat to the Indiana Pacers for running through the Playoffs defying the odds the way they did and for putting up a hell of a fight on Game 7 without their key player Tyrese Haliburton, who suffered a leg injury seven minutes into the first quarter and eventually had to be carried out. Them Dudes are straight warriors. Real Talk!

That being said, it was only fitting that OKC walk away with the win and the 2025 NBA Finals Championship. They were the chosen ones from the jump this year and had to conquer the regular season and a tough and impressive Playoff run to complete the mission at hand. This young group of kids had a rare unity that grew with time captivating the league in a positive way and making their future together as a tight squad that much more intriguing to watch and follow.

Congratulations to the Oklahoma City Thunder for completing a very dominant season from start to finish. These youngins earned this one Hands Down!

The NBA Finals 2025

With the completion of the NBA’s version of the Final 4 now officially over, the two remaining teams representing their respective coasts are the No. 1 Seeded Oklahoma City Thunder for the WESTSIDE and the No. 4 Seeded Indiana Pacers for the EASTSIDE. Real Talk!

Oklahoma City stayed true to their character and their No. 1 Seed by being focussed and dominant throughout the entire season and their Playoff run from start to finish and to now gracing the NBA Finals.

Unlike Indiana, with their work-like approach with efficient results, they were counted out against the Bucks, the Cavs and the Knicks but still managed to upset the oddsmakers in a very convincing fashion worthy of securing their well-earned spot into the NBA Finals.

Indiana is coming in as the returning Eastern Conference finalist after falling short last year but this time around they will probably have their toughest test ahead in the best team in the NBA the Oklahoma City Thunder with the regular season MVP Shai Gilgeous Alexander to contend with in order to get to the promised land.

Oklahoma City’s numbers speak for themselves. They have been the most dominant team night in and night out. That being said, this red-hot Indiana Pacers team will be looking to continue to upset the oddsmakers one final time and derail the likely favourite, Oklahoma City Thunder.

Both squads have some serious momentum pushing them forward to succeed but which squad will have the right “game plan” to capitalized on it in to their advantage.

Squad vs Squad, this is a very interesting matchup where the stakes are high but there can only be one Champion crowned when it’s all said and done so tune in this Thursday night June 5, 2025, live on ABC for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

On The Watch “It’s All About 2025 NBA WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS”

2025 NBA Western Conference Finals

In a very competitive Western Conference game 7, the No. 1 Seeded Oklahoma City Thunder completely annihilated the No. 4 Seeded Denver Nuggets, ushering them right into the Western Conference Finals to take on a young, rested and motivated No. 6 Seeded Minnesota Timberwolves fresh off dismantling the Golden State Warriors in 5 games.

This series will have two very young teams battling it out to have the right to that golden ticket booked to the NBA Finals. Oklahoma ruled the league in an impressive fashion throughout the season this year and continued to show improve game after game in the Playoffs. Standing in their way is another young squad in Minnesota proving to be the real deal by knocking the favourites off the board one by one. The league is changing and these two teams are the future ready to “TAKEOVER” on the biggest stage.

The spotlight will be on the two upcoming stars in the league today: possible MVP favourite Gilgeous-Alexander for OKC and Anthony Edwards for the Wolves. That being said, I personally think it will come down to whose supportive cast will be able to help their superstar get over that threshold and claim the right of passage. Real Talk!

So tune in and watch these youngins turn this intriguing matchup into must see TV on Tuesday night May 20, 2025, for Game 1 and witness the theatre unfold.
