On The Watch “It’s All About The NBA Season 2022/2023”

The NBA Season 2022/2023

With the Golden State Warriors reclaiming last years 2022 NBA Championship, the Warriors have once again proven to be a major player in this year deep Western Conference. With a healthy squad and a few new faces added to the rotation, the Warriors will be looking to defending their Championship with an iron fist from start to finish. Last year opposing teams counted them out and paid the ultimate price when it was all said and done.

With key players the likes of Kawhi Leonard (Clippers), Zion Williamson (Pelicans), Jamal Murray (Nuggets) and Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers) now healthy, they all possess the missing ingredients to help propel their teams throughout the hardship of the tough Western Conference.

The Los Angeles Clippers have a real good chance at making some serious noise this year. If they can stay healthy enough, the squad that this team is showing up with on opening night is as legit as it gets. They have the right balance of talent to definitely stir the pot throughout the league.

Last year’s shorthanded Denver Nuggets made quite a splash throughout the league and the Playoffs. With returning 2022 NBA MVP Nikola Jokic hitting the floor alongside a healthy Jamal Murray and a tight squad, the Nuggets will be looking to disrupt the league in a very competitive way.

The return of a healthy Zion Williamson has all eyes on the New Orleans Pelicans who will be coming in with a solid starting 5 that will keep the fans interested throughout the year but how far they can go will be up in the air considering just how strong the Western Conference is just surviving the regular season.

Lebron James entering his 20th NBA Season at 37 years old is just amazing. This man is a walking machine that if healthy, alongside another healthy Anthony Davis for a full season, has enough fire power to make some serious noise. Although their Pre-Season games didn’t show it, I personally wouldn’t sleep on them just yet.

The Western Conference is a tourney within itself. The Memphis Grizzlies are a bubbling team prime and ready for the big stage. Their squad is built to compete from top to bottom. They are must watch T.V. when they step foot into the arena. The Phoenix Suns have taken a fall in the standings but still managed to bring back the squad that brought them to the 2021 NBA Finals, giving them a good chance to make some serious strides back to the top. The Dallas Mavericks are coming in with an in-shape Luka Doncic who has proven to be a handful on any given night. With a healthy Tim Hardaway Jr. coming back and a solid all-around squad, the Mavericks will be in the mix. As for the remaining Western teams, the Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, the jury is still out. The Western Conference is not for play.

The talk of the Eastern Conference right now is the Brooklyn Nets coming into this season with a healthy-looking squad of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons who will be gracing the court together with some serious swag. The Nets feel very optimistic of guaranteed success this time around. They will have the fire power to hang with any opponent but will the chemistry hold up?

That said, ignoring the Boston Celtics who reached the NBA Finals last year but were unsuccessful, is an understatement. The Celtics have had a taste of the Finals now and will want retribution for their failed attempt. With their squad still intact with a solid one two punch in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way, the top of the food chain is not farfetched.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks wreaked havoc throughout the league last year and fell short late in the Playoffs due to injuries to some key players but with a healthy squad and arguably the best NBA player in the league in Giannis leading the way, the Bucks will be making this Eastern Conference run that much intriguing and must watch T.V. whenever they step foot in the house.

The Philadelphia 76ers might be the sleeper team to move up and do some damage or completely drop if they don’t get it together soon. They have a solid squad well-balanced squad that could put fear throughout the league but they have to lay it all together. Joel Embiid showed up big last year playing at an MVP level but in order to have a successful run James Harden is going to have to bring back his MVP type play for them to have any kind of inspiration of reaching the NBA Finals.

The Miami Heat has the right balance of experience from young to old that have reached the NBA Finals. They are strong on both ends of the floor and can hang with the best of them on any given night. They will be a solid team vying for position. That said, they do have the potential of being a sleeper team as well if not taken seriously by their opponents.

The Eastern Conference teams have steadily been improving year after year with surprising, unexpected teams rising out the trenches disrupting the hierarchy of the usual suspects in the Division.

That being said, the Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic and the Detroit Piston will all have to show and prove that they belong amongst the top teams in the league or risk being labelled unworthy of keeping up in the Eastern Conference.

The league is steaming up with talent and new faces. Tune in this Tuesday night October 18, 2022, and be part of another captivating NBA Season 2022/2023.

On The Watch “It’s All About The NBA Season 2018/2019”

The NBA Season is set to start this upcoming Tuesday night October 16, 2018, and the back-to-back Defending Champs Golden State Warriors will be looking to start the season once again as the team to beat. The Warriors still have the tightest squad across the board. Them “Boyz” are truly battle tested and are destined for another unforgettable journey-type NBA Season. Real Talk!

The Houston Rockets will be looking to pick up where they left off last season. The Rockets were one game away from dethroning the Defending Champs but fell short when it counted the most. That being said, the Rockets have reloaded and are ready to give another memorable run at it with no excuses. Them “Boyz” can ball in Houston and it’s time to put it all together and show out.

The Los Angeles Lakers will be coming from the bottom to the top with their latest addition of LeBron James. The “King” has officially taken his talent to the WESTSIDE. This Dude joining the Lakers is beyond a game changer. LeBron’s track record has shown us in the past that his presence brings success and high expectations. That being said the Western Conference is the toughest side to ball in and only time will tell if the Lakers will have enough ammunition to compete at the top of the Western Conference.

It’s clear and understood that the Western Conference is no cake walk for any team, but expect the Oklahoma City Thunder, Utah Jazz, San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans and the rest of the western teams to compete every night at a high level in the hopes of establishing themselves as the next team on the come up!

With the departure of “King James” to the Western Conference, the Eastern Conference is now open season. The most notable team expecting to strong hold the Division is the healthy -looking Boston Celtics. With their full squad intact for the upcoming season their sole destination is nothing short of the NBA Finals. The rumblings have already started. Boston vs Golden State has already been mentioned as a possible NBA Finals.

That being said the Eastern Conference has showed much improvement the last few years. Our own Canadian team the Toronto Raptors will be looking to recapture their No.1 Spot from last year, as well as the steady play of Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons. These teams seem to have it going on the right track at being competitive enough to make it interesting. Any one of these teams can give Boston a good run for their money, but the question still remains, which team will step up to the plate and deliver the goods.

Tune in Tuesday night October 16, 2018 and be part of the “New Wave” taking over the league.

On The Watch “It’s All About 2018 NBA FINALS CHAMPIONS”

BACK 2 BACK

It was written. The Golden State Warriors, in a blowout road win, completely annihilate The Cleveland Cavaliers by finishing them off in a sweep (4-0) to claim their first Back-To-Back Championship!! With this win Golden State join the Bulls, the Lakers the Celtics as the only NBA franchise to win three or more Championships in a four-year period.

Them Warriors came out with a game plan and executed it to a “T”. Real Talk! The “Hampton’s 5” and company were focus, ready and loaded to hand the Cavs their last game of the 2018 NBA Finals. I gotta tip my “B” hat to Cleveland, “King James” and his Cavaliers gave it a good run throughout the NBA Playoffs and the Finals but this Warriors squad was just too much for any team to handle. Real Talk!

The Warriors came into the Playoffs vulnerable but finished the series and the Finals strong and confident like the Champions they knew they were. There are levels to this sh*t and The Warriors are living proof of that.

Bron Bron put up some crazy MVP numbers over the four games with an average of 34 points, 10, assists and 8.5 rebounds but the 2018 Finals MVP was awarded to Kevin Durant for his Back-to-Back Bill Russell Trophy with an average of 28,8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists. He was unquestionably the most consistent player for his team this series.

Personal accolades aside, it takes a serious squad to win an NBA Finals Championship and The Golden State Warriors were just that a cohesive squad with exceptional group of players with one common goal in mind. A Dynasty in the making.

Congratulation Golden State on becoming this Year’s 2018 NBA Champions!! Once again the Larry O’Bryan Trophy will rest in the West.

On The Watch “It’s All About The NBA Season 2017/2018”

The NBA season is set to start this upcoming Tuesday October 17, 2017, and sitting at top of the food chain once again are the Defending Champs Golden State Warriors. Them Kats showed the league what they were about last year and that was nothing less than a Championship. Mission accomplished. Now with a new NBA season ahead they will be trying to secure their first back-to-back Championship.
I don’t see their momentum stopping any time soon but I do anticipate for them to hit a few roadblocks along the way in the form of the Western Conference. Coming out the WESTSIDE is challenging within itself. Them teams over there have been adding pieces left and right specifically to stunt the Warriors from steamrolling through the league like their previous years.

The usual suspects in my eyes on the WESTSIDE that are hopping to stunt on the Warriors this year are Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets. No disrespect to the rest of the Western Teams but these three teams mentioned are battle tested and have acquired some very interesting acquisitions that may possibly shift the playing field over on the WESTSIDE.
Carmelo Anthony and Paul George joining last year’s MVP in Russell Westbrook, on paper might possibly create a legit threat to the Warriors if they can get it together right?

Houston with the addition of Chris Paul’s leadership could be the missing ingredient to help James Harden get over that hump?

The Spurs well these Kats are a threat on any given year. They have a sound team that is very cerebral when they step foot on that court. You can never count a team coached by Gregg Popovich out. This man is a genius with his X’s and O’s regardless of whom he’s got suiting up to play. REAL TALK!

The rest of the western teams will be competitive as usual battling it out in the deepest conference while staying relevant in the league.

The EASTSIDE had their own makeover also.
Starting with the Defending Eastern Conference Champions the Cleveland Cavaliers swapping point guard Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics for Isaiah Thomas? Unbelievable!! I never saw that one coming. Now add Dwayne Wade and Derrick Rose to the mix and the Cavs become instant Championship contenders. Just like that.

With the Boston Celtics adding all-stars Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward to their squad, they still maintain enough firepower to possibly upstage Cleveland and give them a run for that No. 1 spot in the EAST. Kyrie’s got something to prove here and he will be gunning for it.

Not far behind is our canadian squad the Toronto Raptors. The last few years they’ve been able to stay competitive and in the mix. They have the right core of Kats to get it poppin over there but just keep missing the mark by a small margin of errors. But don’t sleep on them cause they can definitely stunt hard in the Eastern Conference and still cause enough damage to finish with a high seed come Playoff time.

The other remaining squads in the Eastern Conference is a toss- up. Some of them got better and others actually regressed. Only time will tell to see which sleeper team can actually make enough noise this year and earn some respect on that court. REAL TALK!

I’m eager to see how this NBA season 2017/2018 will unfolds.
The West as usual is still the toughest conference to play in. However, the youth of the players runs through both conferences with again the star power still riding on the WESTSIDE. With all the blockbuster trades that went on during the summer, this NBA season will be entertaining. Tune in this Tuesday night October 17, 2017 and be part of the “New Generation” taking over the league.

NBA Season 2015/2016

The newly crowned Defending Champs Golden State Warriors will be entering this year NBA Season with the quest of repeating another unbelievable season. The Western Conference is stacked and competitive as expected. Quite a few teams in the West have done the proper upgrades to keep up with the “New Style” of play that the Warriors displayed throughout last years Season.

With that being said the Eastern Conference Teams have also done some improvements of their own, we can definitely anticipate a much more competitive level of play due to newly acquired players and returning injured players with the hunger within them to show and prove what they missed out on last year.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to be the Team to beat in the East but truth be told the remaining Eastern Teams as a whole have also done their preparation and are all ready to push the Cavs out of that No. 1 Eastern Slot. Tune in this Tuesday night October 27, 2015 and be part of another captivating NBA Season. REAL TALK!
